"Dressed to the Nines" began as the brainchild of
Dr. Kerry Moss, a then resident physician who was looking to find a good use for her once worn bridesmaids dresses prior to her relocation to Denver. Through a simple email to girlfriends around the country, "Dressed to the Nines" was born.

The inaugural event in Hartford, Connecticut in 2006 helped 350 young women find the prom dress of their dreams and raised over $3500 for the Connecticut Children's Medical Center Adolescent Clinic for young adults with unique health care needs. The unsold dresses were donated to Camp Hole in the Wall in Ashford, Connecticut, a camp for children with life threatening and terminal illnesses.

From the grandmothers in Florida who made a day shopping trip to purchase gowns to donate to the kind woman who could not afford her prom years ago and wanted to sponsor one of the girls with a brand new dress, "Dressed to the Nines" has become an inspiration of uncommon kindness and selfless giving. In this day and age the opportunity to empower young women to feel good about themselves is truly a priceless gift.
